The National Cadet Corps (NCC), in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, staged the All Island Eastern Cadet Band Challenge Trophy - 2025 at the NCC Training Centre, Rantembe, on 25 September 2025. The Army School of Logistics (ASL) organised its annual Logistics Symposium 2025 under the theme “Potentiality of Trincomalee as a future logistic hub: potentiality, adaptability, sustainability, optimum utilization and challenges” at General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU), Ratmalana, on 10 September 2025.

The 27th Annual Indo-Pacific Chiefs of Defence Conference (CHODs) – 2025 was held from 25 to 28 August 2025 in Thailand with the participation of senior military leaders representing several countries. Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, Commander of the Army, attended the forum as the uniformed Chief of Defence representative from Sri Lanka.

Deputy Minister of Defence Major General Aruna Jayasekara (Retd) paid a visit to Abhimansala-3 in Pangolla, Kurunegala, and Abhimansala-1 in Anuradhapura on 29th and 30th of August. These visits reflected not only the Defence Ministry’s broader welfare vision but also its enduring commitment to the wellbeing of differently-abled war heroes.

The 11th Oration Ceremony of General Deshamanya Denis Perera was conducted at the auditorium of the Faculty of Graduate Studies, General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University on 11 August 2025. Major General K.P. Aruna Jayasekara (Retd) WWV RSP VSV USP ndc psc, Deputy Minister of Defence, graced the event as a Retired Flag Rank Officer. Dr. Purna Bahadur Nepali, Ambassador of Nepal to Sri Lanka, participated in the event as a distinguished guest and the family members of the late General Denis Perera were also in attendance among the audience as special invitees.
