Major General B.K.G.M.L Rodrigo RSP psc IG, Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF), visited the Volunteer Force Training School (VFTS) on 19 November 2024.

The Officers’ Training Day for 2024 was successfully conducted at the Corps of Engineer Services (CES) on 21 November 2024 under the guidance of the Colonel Commandant of CES.

His Excellency President Anura Kumara Dissanayake called upon all public officials to unite with a common purpose and work together to transform the motherland into a better nation. He made this statement today (22) during his visit to the Ministry of Defence at the Defence Headquarters premises in Akuregoda, where he assumed duties as the new Defence Minister.

Major General M.G.W.W.W.M.C.B Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc, Commander, Security Forces (Jaffna) and Colonel of the Regiment of the Gajaba Regiment, visited the 14, 11(V), and 4 Battalions of the Gajaba Regiment on 16 November 2024.

The Army Inter-Regiment Kabaddi Championship concluded on 22 November 2024 at the Army Physical Training School, Panagoda.

Under the guidance of Major General P.K.W.W.M.J.S.B.W. Pallekumbura RWP RSP ndu psc, General Officer Commanding of the 12 Infantry Division, a school accessories donation programme was conducted at Maha Ara Kanishta Vidyalaya in Ambalantota on 20 November 2024.

The Tier ‘B’ T20 Cricket Tournament 2024, conducted by Sri Lanka Cricket Committe, concluded with Army Sports Club (SC) securing the runner-up trophy. The tournament featured 12 teams competing in two divisions.

A delegation of former Indian Peace Keeping Force (IPKF) Officers, along with their families, visited the 59 Infantry Division area in Mullaittivu on 16 and 17 November 2024. The contingent included Lieutenant General Gajendra Joshi, Commandant of the Indian Infantry Training School, Mhow, and former Vice Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Sarath Chand (Retd).

Under the guidance of Major General K.A.U. Kodithuwakku RSP USP psc IG, General Officer Commanding of the 11 Infantry Division, a dry ration pack donation program was conducted on 18 November 2024 at the 11 Infantry Division Headquarters in Pallekale.

The 56 Infantry Division, in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Hadabima Authority, distributed poultry chicks, vegetable plants and farming tools to 150 low-income families in Nedunkerni and Palinagar on 19 November 2024.
