Sri Lanka Army weightlifter, Sergeant Y.D.I. Kumara, brought glory to the nation by winning the bronze medal in the men’s 60kg weight category at the Commonwealth Weightlifting Championships, held in India on 26 August 2025.

As per the request made by the Director of Indi Foundation and under the instructions of the Commander of the Army, the Sri Lanka Army provided transport facilities for children of the Indi Foundation affected by cancer to attend a religious blessings event at Ruwanweli Seya and Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi premises on 23 August 2025.
The World Sepaktakraw Championship 2025 inconjunction with the 38th Thai King's Cup 2025 was held in Hat Yai, Thailand from 22-27 July 2025. 16 top-ranked countries in men’s and women’s categories were represented. The Sri Lanka national Sepaktakraw Team showcased exceptional skill, achieving the following results:
Major General H.C.L Galappathti RSP USP, the General Officer Commanding of 24 Infantry Division, was invited to the office of the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, on 21 August 2025, prior to his retirement from the Sri Lanka Army after completing a distinguished military career spanning over 34 years.
