In line with the concept of Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, the Commander of the Army, to support the higher education of children of Army and civilian personnel serving in the Army through enhanced access to digital learning resources, a laptop donation ceremony was held on 13 March 2026 at the Army Headquarters. Army Chief graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

The 12th contingent of the Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps (SLAMC) departed the country to serve at the Level-2 SRIMED Hospital under the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) on 13 March 2026.

Troops of the 8th Battalion, Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (8 SLSR), under instructions from the 572 Infantry Brigade, successfully contained a wildfire that broke out in Nilwakka, Puwakdeniya, Kegalle on 12 March 2026.

The 11th contingent of the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS), serving at the SRIMED Level 2 UN Hospital in Bor, South Sudan, comprising 10 Officers and 41 Other Ranks, arrived in Sri Lanka on 11 March 2026 following the successful completion of their one-year mission. Meanwhile, the remaining 05 Officers and 04 Other Ranks remained in South Sudan as the rear party and are expected to arrive in due course.

Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, Commander of the Army, participated in a special Iftar ceremony held at Grand Maitland, Colombo 07, on 11 March 2026. The ceremony marked the customary observance of Iftar during the sacred month of Ramadan.

The Directorate of Army Benevolent Fund (ABF) conducted awareness lectures at the Regimental Headquarters of Sri Lanka Armoured Corps on 24 February 2026 and at the 14 Infantry Division on 03 March 2026.
