Sri Lanka Army Upgrades Vehicle Fleet

Due to the economic crisis in the country, vehicle imports were completely halted in 2020 and have remained suspended for the past four years. As a result, 70 percent of the Sri Lanka Army’s vehicle fleet is now over 15 years old. In response, the Directorate of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering has initiated several steps to upgrade the existing vehicle fleet through the process of reconditioning.
