The prestigious Medal Awarding Ceremony of the 15th Sri Lanka Force Protection Company at the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) took place on 11 February 2025 at the UNIFIL Headquarters in Naqoura, Lebanon.

A delegation from the Sri Lanka Army, led by Major General U.K.D.D.P Udugama RWP RSP USP ndc psc, along with Major General K.A.W.N.H Bandaranayake USP, and Brigadier S.A Hettige RSP psc, paid a courtesy call on the UNIFIL Deputy Force Commander on 10th February 2025 at the UNIFIL HQ in Naqoura, Lebanon.

Brigadier K.A.D.C.R Kannangara RSP ndc of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) assumed duties as the Overall Security Coordinator of Army Headquarters on 06th January 2025 during a brief ceremony.

The 11th contingent of the Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps (SLAMC) has embarked on its mission to serve at the Level-2 SRIMED Hospital under the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) on Thursday (13).

Brigadier B.A.D.R.A.C Wijeyesekara RSP USACGSC, of the Sri Lanka Armoured Corps, assumed duties on 06th January 2025 as the 39th Director of the Directorate of Staff Duties during a brief ceremony at Army Headquarters.

The Special Forces (SF) celebrated its 28th Anniversary on 03rd January 2025 at the SF Regimental Headquarters, under the guidance of Major General J.P.C Peiris RWP RSP ndc, Commander of the Security Forces (Wanni) and Colonel of the Regiment, SF.

The 10th contingent of the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) at SRIMED Level 2 UN Hospital in Bor, South Sudan, comprising 9 Officers and 42 troops, arrived in Sri Lanka on 11 February 2025, following the successful completion of their one-year mission. Meanwhile, the remaining 07 Officers and 05 troops stayed in South Sudan as a rear party and are expected to arrive in due course.

Major General Y.A.B.M Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc, Commander, Security Forces (Jaffna), visited 51 Infantry Division on 05 January 2025.

Major General W.M.P.M Wijesooriya RWP RSP ndu, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 57 Infantry Division, attended the Prefects’ Investiture Ceremony at St. Bernadette’s Model School, Polgahawela, on 3rd January 2025, as the Chief Guest, following an invitation from the school’s Principal.

Under the guidance of Major General K.A.N Rasika Kumara ndc psc, General Officer Commanding of the 22 Infantry Division and the Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Engineer Services (CES), the newly constructed Dining Hall of the Warrant Officers' and Sergeants' Mess was officially opened at the Regimental Headquarters of CES on 03 January 2025.
