The 542 Infantry Brigade distributed essential learning materials and school accessories to 94 students from Poomalandan Primary School and Madhu Sinhala Maha Vidyalaya at Poomalandan Preschool on 07th January 2025.
Under the guidance of Major General W.P Kariyawasam, General Officer Commanding of the 23 Infantry Division, and the leadership of the Commanding Officers of the 7th Battalion, the Gemunu Watch (7 GW) and the 9th Field Regiment, Sri Lanka Artillery (9 SLA) organized two impactful donation programmes on 04 January 2025.

Major General W.M.P.M Wijesooriya RWP RSP ndu, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 57 Infantry Division, attended the Prefects’ Investiture Ceremony at St. Bernadette’s Model School, Polgahawela, on 3rd January 2025, as the Chief Guest, following an invitation from the school’s Principal.

The Marksmanship and Sniper Training School (MSTS) celebrated its 36th Anniversary on 06 January 2025 at MSTS premises, under the leadership of Brigadier R.P Munipura RWP RSP, Commandant of MSTS.
The Sri Lanka Signal Corps (SLSC) bade farewell to the outgoing Chief Signal Officer of Sri Lanka Army and the Colonel Commandant of SLSC, Major General I.H.M.R.K Herath USP ndc psc on 03 January 2025 in a formal ceremony held at the Regimental Centre of SLSC.
