Army Chief Graces Educational Aids Donation Programme at SLAVF
In line with the vision of Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ndu psc IG, Commander of the Army, and with the aim of continuously uplifting the welfare and wellbeing of Army personnel and their families, the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF) conducted an Educational Aids Donation Programme at the Grand Maitland in Colombo on 28 May 2026. The Army Chief graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

Major General B.M Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc was invited to the office of the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ndu psc IG, on 27 May 2026, prior to his retirement from the Sri Lanka Army after a distinguished military career spanning over 36 years.

යුද්ධ හමුදා විශේෂ බලකා බලසේනාව විසින් 2026 මැයි මස 26 වන දින කොළඹ අයි.ටී.සී. රත්නදීප හෝටල් පරිශ්රයේදී ‘Operation Hard Duck’ නමින් විශේෂ පුහුණු ක්රියාන්විත අභ්යාසයක් පවත්වන ලදී. නඟරබද පරිසරයක සිදුවන සන්නද්ධ ගැටුම් සඳහා විශේෂ බලකා භටයින්ගේ සටන් සූදානම සහ ක්රියාන්විත කාර්යක්ෂමතාව ඉහළ නැංවීම මෙම අභ්යාසයේ ප්රධාන අරමුණ විය.
Strategic Employment of Special Forces in Urban Operational Environment – Ex Hard Duck
The Special Forces Brigade operatives conducted a special operations exercise, “Operation Hard Duck", on 26 May 2026 at the ITC Hotel Rathnadeepa in Colombo. The exercise focused on enhancing the combat readiness and operational effectiveness of Special Forces operatives in an Urban Operational Environment (UOE).
