HE Akio ISOMATA, Ambassador of Japan to Sri Lanka and Commander KUBO Takayuki, JMSDF, the Defence Attaché at the Embassy of Japan in the Sri Lanka, paid a courtesy call on Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, Commander of the Army on 22 April 2025 at the Army Headquarters.

Major General V.D.S Perera was invited to the Office of the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, on 21 April 2025, along with his family members, prior to his retirement from the Sri Lanka Army after completing a distinguished career spanning 35 years.

The Sri Lanka Artillery (SLA) commemorated its 137th Anniversary by honouring its Fallen War Heroes at the Regimental Headquarters on 19 April 2025.

The customary Sinhala and Tamil New Year tea table and cordial get-together of the Army Headquarters took place on Wednesday (16th April 2025) morning. Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, the Commander of the Army, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

The Quartermasters Commissioning Course No. 7 conducted from 06 January 2025 to 02 April 2025 at the Army School of Logistics, Trincomalee, concluded successfully with the participation of 99 Probationary Officers.

The Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force Headquarters (SLAVF HQ) colourfully celebrated the New Year Festival abiding to the cultural and traditional formalities under the guidance of Major General D.K.S.K Dolage USP nps psc, the Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF) on 09th April 2025.

Preparations for the Sri Dalada Maligawa pilgrimage, scheduled to commence from 18th April 2025, are currently underway at the Sri Dalada Maligawa premises in Kandy.

The 2025 Inter-Regiment Men’s Sepaktakraw Championship, organized by the Army Football Committee concluded on 07th March 2025 at the Panagoda Indoor Stadium with the participation of 13 regiments. After a series of intense matches between 13 regimental teams, the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment Sepaktakraw Team and the Sri Lanka Army Military Police Regiment Sepaktakraw Team qualified for the final match, and the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment Sepaktakraw Team won the overall championship of the tournament with a score of 02 to 00.

The training programme spanning two days was successfully concluded under the auspicious of Major General D.K.S.K Dolage USP nps psc, the Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF) on 08th April 2025 at the Headquarters SLAVF.
