Brigadier M.K.D.P Mapalagama psc of the Gemunu Watch assumed duties as the new Commandant of the Army Training School (ATS), Maduru Oya on 21 October 2024, amidst religious observances and military formalities.

The 591 Infantry Brigade organized a blood donation programme at Brigade Headquarters on 10 October 2024. This initiative was conducted under the guidance of Major General D.R.N Hettiarachchi RWP RSP USP, Commander of the 59 Infantry Division, and the supervision of Brigadier M.J Ubeysekera RSP psc, Commander of the 591 Infantry Brigade.

A Prosthetic Limbs Distribution Programme was organised by the Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock Seva Vanitha Branch (SLACAL – SVB) under the guidance of Major General S.A. Kulatunga RWP RSP VSV USP psc, Commander of Security Force Headquarters (East) and Colonel Commandant of SLACAL, from 17 to 19 October 2024 at the 22 Infantry Division.

A beach cleaning programme was conducted on 07 October 2024, in line with the 75th Anniversary of the Sri Lanka Army, under the guidance of Major General D.R.N Hettiarachchi RWP RSP USP, General Officer Commanding of 59 Infantry Division and the supervision of Brigadier M.J Ubeysekera RSP psc, Commander of 591 Infantry Brigade.

In parallel to the Vap Full Moon Poya Day on 17 October 2024, the 211 Infantry Brigade organised a 'Kiri Bath Dansala' at the sacred Ruwanweli Maha Seya premises under the guidance of Brigadier I.N. Kandanaarachchi RSP, Commander, 211 Infantry Brigade.

The 17(V) Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) troops, under the directions of Commander, Security Force (Wanni), completed the construction of a new house for a deserving family in Pampeimadu on 19 October 2024.
