In conjunction with the 76th Army Day celebrations held on 10 October 2025, and based on the recommendations made by the Secretary to the Ministry of Defence, Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyyakontha (Retd), and Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, the Commander of the Army, His Excellency the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mr. Anura Kumara Dissanayake, has approved the promotions of five Brigadiers who were wounded in action, in recognition of their dedicated service to the nation. These officers have been officially promoted to the rank of Major General.

United Nations Logistics Officers’ Course (UNLOG) Number - 07 conducted from 29 September to 10 October 2025 at the Institute of Peace Support Operations Training Sri Lanka (IPSOTSL).

Under the direction of 51 Infantry Division and supervision of 513 Infantry Brigade, troops of the 11th Sri Lanka Light Infantry constructed and vested in a newly-built house to a needy family in Kareinagar on 10 October 2025 in line with 76th Army Anniversary.

Arriving at the Army Headquarters on the 76th Army Anniversary, the Deputy Minister was warmly received by, Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, the Commander of the Army and accorded a ceremonial welcome.

Brigadier M.K.S.S. De Silva, the Director of Budget and Financial Management, assumed duties as the 19th Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps (SLAGSC) with military formalities on 08 October 2025 at the Regimental Headquarters of SLAGSC.

Exercise Mitra Shakti (XI) 2025 is scheduled to be held in Belgavi, India, from 9 November to 23 November 2025. Accordingly, the Pre-Training Course for the participating contingent commenced at the Air Mobile Training School (AMTS), Nikawewa, with the participation of Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks of the Sri Lanka Army and Sri Lanka Air Force.

Brigadier L.R. Wijeratne USP assumed duties as the new Director of the Directorate of Agriculture and Livestock on 07 October 2025 at the Directorate of Agriculture & Livestock, Panagoda, during a formal ceremony.

The Sri Lanka Army Internal Affairs Unit (IAU) conducted an awareness programme on 07 October 2025 at Army Headquarters, with the participation of Army personnel from all branches and directorates of Army Headquarters.

Brigadier T.G.N. De Silva of the Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps assumed duties as the 23rd Director of the Directorate of Pay & Records on 08 October 2025 during a brief ceremony held at the Army Cantonment, Panagoda.

His Excellency Mr. Kapila Jayaweera, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Lebanon, paid a courtesy call on the Force Commander and Head of Mission of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) at the UNIFIL Headquarters on 03 October 2025.
