A books and school accessories donation program were conducted on 01 October 2024 at 11 Infantry Division under the guidance of Major General K.A.U Kodithuwakku RSP USP psc IG, General Officer Commanding of the 11 Infantry Division, in line with World Children’s Day.

Under the direction of Brigadier H.K.S Thilakaratne, Commander of the 222 Infantry Brigade, the 9 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment conducted a cleaning programme at the Sri Sitthara Velayudham Swamy Kovil on 25 September 2024.

Under the guidance of Mrs. Nandani Samarakoon, Chairperson of the Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers Seva Vanita Branch (SLEME-SVB), a welfare programme was conducted on 29 September 2024 at the 2(V) SLEME in Diyatalawa.

Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, Commander of the Army, on Wednesday (2) paid a courtesy call on the new Secretary to the Ministry of Defence, Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retd) WWV, RWP and two Bars, RSP and Bar, USP, MMSc (Strat Stu- China), MSc (Def Stu) in Mgt, MSc (Def & Strat Stu), fndu (China), psc at the Ministry of Defence.

A special ‘Aashirwada’ Pooja (blessing ceremony) of Hindu tradition was held on 02 October 2024 at Mayurapathi Sri Bhadrakali Amman Kovil, Colombo 6, extending its blessings to the forthcoming 75th Anniversary of the Sri Lanka Army and Army Day (October 10).

Coinciding with the 75th Anniversary of the Sri Lanka Army, the Sri Lanka Armoured Corps conducted a Shramadana Campaign on 26 September 2024, at Prithipura Home in Wattala. As part of the programme, tea was provided, and an entertainment session was organized for the residents of the home.

Major General P.A.C. Fernando USP, the Director General of Army Health Services of the Sri Lanka Army, was invited to the office of the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, on 02 October 2024, prior to his retirement from the Sri Lanka Army.

Mrs. Kalyani Wijerathna, the new Chairperson of the Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps Seva Vanitha Branch (SLAMC-SVB), assumed office at the SLAMC Regimental Headquarters on 27 September 2024, during a brief ceremony.

Major General G.M.N Perera RWP RSP USP ndc, Colonel of the Regiment of the Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI), visited 4 SLLI on 27 September 2024 prior to his retirement from the Sri Lanka Army.

The 4 Armoured Regiment celebrated its 33rd anniversary on 24 September 2024 with a series of events.
