The prize-awarding ceremony of the Army Inter-Regiment Judo Championship 2024 was held on 25 September 2024 at the Army Indoor Stadium in Panagoda Army Cantonment.

The annual procession of Mahiyangana Raja Maha Vihara was successfully conducted on 17 September 2024. Under the guidance of Major General K.A.U Kodithuwakku RSP USP psc IG, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 11 Infantry Division, the troops played a pivotal role in assisting with the arrangements and ensuring the smooth flow of the religious event.

Thailand International Judo Championship 2024 was held from 18 to 24 September 2024 in Bangkok, Thailand, with the participation of 15 countries. Sri Lanka Army Judo players showcased remarkable skills, winning both silver and bronze medals in the competition.

Under the guidance of Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, the Commander of the Army and under the supervision of the Directorate of Engineer Services, the troops of the 10 (V) Engineer Services Regiment (ESR) successfully completed the construction of a Sanghawasa Building at Sri Rathnarama Rajamaha Viharaya, Lunugamwehera, on 13 September 2024.

Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retd) WWV, RWP and two bars, RSP and bar, USP, MMSc (Strat Stu- China), MSc (Def Stu) in Mgt, MSc (Def & Strat Stu), fndu (China), psc has been appointed as the new Secretary to the Ministry of Defence by His Excellency the President Anura Kumara Dissanayake on 23 September 2024. He assumed duties in his new role at the Defence Headquarters, Akuregoda.

The inauguration of HE Anura Kumara Dissanayake as the 9th Executive President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces took place on 23 September 2024 at the Presidential Secretariat.
