Major General P.A.C. Fernando USP, the Director General of Army Health Services of the Sri Lanka Army, was invited to the office of the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, on 02 October 2024, prior to his retirement from the Sri Lanka Army.

Completion of New House for a Needy Family in Gothameegama by 20th Battalion the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) completed the construction of a new house for a deserving family in Gothameegama, Kataragama. The Commander of the Army and Colonel of the Regiment of the Gajaba Regiment, Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, symbolically handed over the reins of his office as the Colonel of the Regiment to his successor, Major General M.G.W.W.W.M.C.B Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc, by presenting him with a replica of the Baton, signifying the relinquishment of office as Colonel of the Regiment of the Gajaba Regiment.
