Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, Commander of the Army, paid a courtesy visit to the Army Base Hospital in Kandy on 14th January 2025 to review its operational aspects and receive updates on its current functionality.
Upon arrival, the Army Chief was formally welcomed by Brigadier W.W.M.P.W.W.B.R. Palamakumbura RWP RSP, the Director of the Army Base Hospital, Kandy. Following this, the Commander of the Army toured the new hospital complex, inspecting its operational areas and assessing possibilities for ensuring its optimal maintenance.
The hospital currently offers a range of services, including OPD facilities, prosthetic and orthotic services for individuals with disabilities, clinical services for various diseases, dental care, a fully equipped operating theatre with modern medical equipment, and pharmaceutical facilities. These services cater to serving Army personnel, ex-service members, and their families.
The General Officer Commanding of the 11 Infantry Division, Senior Officers and Officers participated in the visit.
