The Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal V.B. Edirisinghe WWV, RWP, RSP and three Bars, USP, fndu(China), psc, qhi, paid a courtesy call on Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, Commander of the Army, at Army Headquarters on 04 April 2025.
Upon arrival, he was accorded a formal Guard of Honour, presented by troops of the Sri Lanka Artillery at the Army Headquarters. He was then received by Major General K.V.N.P Premaratne RSP USP nps psc, the Adjutant General.
The Army Chief, after extending a warm welcome to the new Air Force Chief at the main entrance of Army Headquarters, introduced his Principal Staff Officers to the guest, followed by a group photograph.
During the brief meeting with the Commander of the Army, they exchanged views on matters of mutual importance and discussed ways to enhance cooperation between both organisations.
Extending his best wishes on the new appointment, the Commander of the Army presented a memento to the visiting Air Force Commander. The gesture was reciprocated. Concluding the visit, the Commander of the Air Force placed his signature in the VIP visitors' book.
