Troops of the 223 Infantry Brigade conducted a blood donation campaign on 29 April 2026 at the Mutur Cultural Hall, following a request from the Trincomalee Blood Bank, under the guidance of Brigadier M.T.I. Gunawardena RSP psc, Commander of the 223 Infantry Brigade. The programme was conducted with the support of medical staff of the Trincomalee Blood Bank.
Meanwhile, troops of the 20th Battalion of the Gajaba Regiment conducted another blood donation campaign on the same day at their camp premises in Pulmoddai, in collaboration with the medical team of the Cluster Blood Bank in Padaviya.
Members of the Army, Navy, Police and civilians in the area participated in the initiative.
