Major General G.S.K. Perera RSP ndc assumed duties as the new General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 54 Infantry Division on 31 March 2026 amidst religious blessings and military formalities at the 54 Infantry Division in Mannar.
Upon arrival, the new GOC was accorded a guard turnout. Thereafter, he paid tribute to the fallen war heroes’ monument, posed for a group photograph, planted a sapling at the premises and addressed the troops of the Division, followed by an all-ranks tea.
Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks were present at the occasion.
