A special counselling programme was held at the Mihindu Seth Medura Wellness Centre on 11 February 2026 with the aim of enhancing the mental wellbeing of both the inmates and the staff.
The programme was conducted by counselling officers of the Colombo District Women’s Affairs Bureau with the supervision of the Commandant of Mihindu Seth Medura.
During the programme, a series of practical and theoretical sessions were conducted. Efforts were also made to strengthen mental resilience and self-confidence among the inmates, while fostering a positive social environment and enhancing social interaction among the staff to improve the overall quality of work.
The programme conducted under the guidance of the Directorate of Veterans Affairs and Rehabilitation.
