A dry rations and essential household items distribution programme was conducted on 28 January 2026 at the Thekkam Grama Niladhari Division community hall to provide assistance to 53 families affected by the Ditwah cyclone in Madhu and Thekkam.
This welfare initiative was generously supported by a donor residing in Canada. Major General A.M.C. Abeykoon RWP RSP USP ndc, General Officer Commanding of the 54 Infantry Division, graced the event as the Chief Guest. Government officials, senior officers, officers and other ranks participated in the programme.
