Fallen War Heroes of the Indian Peace Keeping Force (IPKF), who made the supreme sacrifice while combating LTTE terrorism in Sri Lanka during 1987–1990, were commemorated at the IPKF Monument in Palaly on 26 January 2026, coinciding with the Republic Day of India. The event was conducted by Security Forces Headquarters (Jaffna) in collaboration with the Office of the Consul General of India to Sri Lanka in Jaffna.
Mr Shri Sai Murali S, Consul General of India to Sri Lanka in Jaffna, together with Major General M.R. Razick RSP ndu, Commander, 51 Infantry Division, paid tribute to the fallen war heroes by placing floral wreaths during the brief and solemn ceremony.
Officials from the Office of the Consul General of India to Sri Lanka in Jaffna, along with senior officers, officers and troops, were present to honour the memory of the fallen IPKF heroes.
