The Passing Out Parade of the Special Infantry Operations (SIO) Course No 78 was held on 19 January 2026 at the Army Training School (ATS), Maduruoya. The course was conducted from 11 July 2025 to 19 January 2026.
Major General K.L.I Karunanayake RWP RSP ndc, Commandant of the Army Training School, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
During the ceremony, awards were presented to outstanding performers in recognition of their excellence. Captain M.H.P Manathunga of 1 GR was adjudged the Best Officer, while Corporal D.M.S.K Dissanayake of 5 VIR secured the Best Soldier award. Lieutenant R.M.D.U Premasiri of 22 VIR was recognised as the Best in Physical Training and Lieutenant H.A.D.S Samarakkodi of 9 GR received the award for Best Shooter. The Best Section award was won by 9 VIR.
