A school supplies donation programme was successfully conducted on 04 January 2026 at Ashoka Junior School, Thantirimale, for the benefit of the students of Ashoka Junior School, Anuradhapura and the children of the Siyambalagasswewa Preschool.
During the programme, school necessities required for the entire year 2026, including books, school bags, shoes, lunch boxes, water bottles and other essential educational items, were distributed to each child. In addition, common requirements for both the school and the preschool were donated. A children’s playground was also established, the abandoned school library was renovated and books were donated to enhance the library facilities.
The financial contribution amounting to approximately Rs. 1.5 million for this worthy social service initiative was generously made by the staff of the maintenance section of Colombo Dockyard PLC.
Senior officers, officers, other ranks, representatives of Colombo Dockyard PLC, the principal and teaching staff, preschool teachers, parents and students participated in the event.
