Brigadier M.M. Thusitha Bandara USP AUSWC psc assumed duties as the 40th Commandant of the Sri Lanka Military Academy (SLMA) on 06 January 2026.
The newly appointed Commandant was accorded a Guard Turnout followed by a Guard of Honour. Paying tribute to fallen war heroes, he laid a wreath at the War Memorial.
Addressing all ranks during his Troop Address at the Sino–Lanka Friendship Auditorium, the Commandant emphasised collective responsibility, dedicated service, discipline and professional excellence in developing future ready military leaders, while highlighting the importance of a positive mindset and personal fulfilment.
Senior officers, officers and other ranks participated in the event.
