Major General A.M.C. Abeykoon RWP RSP USP ndc, General Officer Commanding of the 54 Infantry Division, formally assumed duties as the 20th Colonel of the Regiment of the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment on 29 December 2025 at the Regimental Centre, Ambepussa.
Upon arrival, he was accorded a guard turnout and a guard of honour. Subsequently, floral tributes were paid at the War Heroes Monument, followed by the planting of a sapling in the Regimental premises. Addressing the troops, the Colonel of the Regiment shared his vision and guidance for the future of the Regiment.
The formalities concluded with an all ranks tea, a group photograph and a lunch at the Officers’ Mess. Senior officers, officers and other ranks participated in the event.
