Under the direction of the Commander of the Army and the supervision of the Directorate of Engineer Services, Army troops successfully completed construction activities along the Sripadaya route on 05th January 2026.
The project commenced on 11 December 2025, and all construction materials were supplied under the Clean Sri Lanka Project. The scope of work included the completion of a 300 mm side wall extending 300 feet, a 500 mm side wall covering 90 feet, and the construction of a retaining wall. In addition, handrails were installed along the route, significantly enhancing safety for pilgrims.
Troops under Security Forces Headquarters (Central), transported construction materials from Nallathanniya to the construction site, with daily assistance provided by several Army regiments. The Sri Lanka Navy and the Sri Lanka Air Force also extended their support to this joint task.
