The Special Forces Regiment celebrated its 29th Anniversary on 03 January 2026 with a series of formal events held at the Regimental Centre.
The occasion was graced by Major General W.B.M.K.G.K. Weerasekara WWV RWP RSP USP AUSWS psc, Colonel of the Regiment, Special Forces, with the participation of senior officers, officers and Other Ranks.
In conjunction with the anniversary celebrations, an appreciation ceremony was conducted to honour the Special Forces Firing Team for their outstanding achievement in emerging as Champions of the Inter-Regiment Firing Competition – 2025.
