Army Chief Graces the Graduation Ceremony of Logistics Staff Course No. 11

The Graduation Ceremony of the Logistics Staff Course (LSC) No. 11 was held at the General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU) auditorium on 11 December 2025. Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, Commander of the Army, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. He was warmly welcomed by Brigadier R.T. Lokuthotahewa USP psc, Commandant of the Army School of Logistics (ASL).

The Sri Lanka Army directly oversees the LSC, which is regarded as the top professional course in administration and logistics. The post-nominal designation “Lsc” is awarded following successful completion of this full-time, one year residential course. Additionally, a Master of Business Administration in Logistics Management (MBA in LM) is awarded by the ASL in partnership with KDU.

LSC No. 11 commenced on 15 January 2025, with the participation of 36 Officers comprising 31 Officers from the Sri Lanka Army, 02 Officers from the Sri Lanka Air Force, 01 Officer from the Sri Lanka Navy and 02 Foreign Officers from Zambia and Bangladesh.

Commencing the event, the Commandant of ASL delivered the welcome speech. Then the parchments were presented to the graduates by the Chief Guest in the order of precedence, while special awards were conferred upon officers who demonstrated exceptional academic performance. Major P.P.A. Pieris of the Corps of Engineer Services was recognised as both the Best Student Officer and the Best Logistics Planner.

During the ceremony, the “Golden Log 2025”, the ASL’s annual journal, was officially launched and presented to the Chief Guest and other distinguished attendees.

The event concluded with the Commandant of ASL presenting a commemorative memento to the Commander of the Army in appreciation of his presence, and the gesture was reciprocated.

Major General D.K.S.K. Dolage USP nps psc, Chief of Staff, Major General Y.A.B.M. Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc, Deputy Chief of Staff, the Vice Chancellor of KDU, Heads of Diplomatic Missions, diplomats, the ASL Board of Management, members of the academic community, senior officers from the tri services and the families of the graduates participated in the event.
