The 6th International Men’s Fajr Cup Weightlifting Championships was held from 26 to 30 November 2025 in Tehran, Iran, bringing together top athletes from across the region. Representing Sri Lanka, a group of elite Sri Lanka Army weightlifters competed as members of the National Weightlifting Team, showcasing remarkable skill and determination on the international stage.
Among the outstanding achievements, Gunner L.G.A.S Liyanagedara of the 15th Sri Lanka Artillery delivered an exceptional performance by securing the Silver Medal in the 60 kg Weight Category, bringing pride to the Sri Lanka Army and the nation.
