A consignment of safety jackets valued at approximately Rs. 500,000.00 was formally handed over to the Sri Lanka Army on 30 November 2025 at Army Headquarters, strengthening its capacity to conduct rescue and relief operations in the aftermath of Cyclone Ditwah.
This timely contribution is expected to improve the safety of troops engaged in flood-response efforts, landslide-rescue tasks and other humanitarian missions arising from the cyclone’s impact. By enhancing the protective gear available to personnel operating in high-risk conditions, the donation will support more efficient and secure life-saving activities. The initiative, executed by Toyota Lanka PLC, reflects the organisation’s commitment to national disaster management and relief endeavours.
Major General Y.A.B.M. Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Army, accepted the donation on behalf of the Sri Lanka Army.
