Indian and Sri Lankan Armed Forces Strengthen Bonds Through Cultural Exchange

A 120-member delegation from the Indian tri forces arrived in Sri Lanka on 26 November 2025 as part of the Reciprocal Cultural Exchange Programme between the Armed Forces of India and Sri Lanka. The two-day visit, scheduled to be conducted on 27 and 28 November 2025, aims to further enhance military cooperation, deepen cultural understanding and strengthen the longstanding ties between the two nations.

The delegation, headed by Colonel Rangarajan Raghavan of the Indian Army, was received at Bandaranaike International Airport by Major General G.C.V. Fernando ndc, Director General Welfare of the Sri Lanka Army.

During their stay, the group is scheduled to visit several notable locations in the Central Province, including military establishments, cultural and religious sites and significant natural attractions, offering participants a broader understanding of Sri Lanka’s heritage, traditions and scenic landscape.

As part of this reciprocal initiative, a 119-member Sri Lankan tri forces delegation also departed for India on the same day, following the arrival of the Indian team. Their two-day cultural tour will include visits to historic and sacred sites in Agra and Gaya, providing an opportunity to experience India’s rich cultural and spiritual heritage.
