The Sri Lankan military contingent that participated in the 11th edition of the Sri Lanka–India bilateral military exercise, Exercise Mithra Shakti, returned to the island on 22 November 2025 after successfully completing the programme conducted from 10 to 22 November 2025 at the Foreign Training Node (FTN) in Belagavi, Karnataka, India.
The contingent comprised 125 Sri Lanka Army personnel and 10 Sri Lanka Air Force personnel. The exercise provided an effective platform for enhancing military cooperation, cultural understanding and camaraderie between the two Armies.
The returning troops arrived at the Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport. The contingent, under the guidance of Brigadier W.A.J. Hemachandra RSP Hdmc psc, Commander of the Air Mobile Brigade, was welcomed by Brigadier D.S Jayawardena RSP ndc, Director Infantry, together with Lieutenant Colonel Mandeep Singh Negi, Assistant Defence Adviser of the High Commission of India, Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks and family members.
