The Vijayabahu Infantry Seminar – 2025 was conducted at the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) Headquarters in Boyagane on 22 November 2025, under the patronage of Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, the Commander of the Army.
The Chief Guest was warmly welcomed by the senior officers of the Regiment. Afterwards, the welcome address was delivered by Major General K.A.W.N.H. Bandaranayake USP, Colonel of the Regiment followed by the keynote speech conducted by Major General S.R.B Aluvihare (Rtd) RWP RSP ndu psc.
The seminar consisted of two technical sessions, during which subject specialists delivered a series of lectures covering a range of military-related topics aimed at enhancing professional knowledge and operational readiness.
During the programme, certificates were awarded to the guest speakers in appreciation of their contributions and mementos were exchanged to commemorate the occasion. The event concluded with the final remarks of Major General D.K.S.K. Dolage USP nps psc, the Chief of Staff.
In parallel with the event, the inauguration ceremony of the newly constructed Officers’ Accommodation Complex was held in the VIR premises, marking another significant milestone of the Regiment. After the first session of the seminar, the Commander of the Army visited the camp premises, including the ORs' accommodation area.
