Army Provides Transport Facilities for A/L Students Affected by Bad Weather

Severe flooding in Galle and Matara districts due to adverse weather prompted the Sri Lanka Army to provide vital transport support to Advanced Level candidates, ensuring they reached their examination centres without delay.

In Neluwa, nearly 150 metres of the Neluwa–Dellawa road were submerged under about three feet of water, leading the Army to deploy trucks and tractors to assist residents and students moving through the flooded section.

Similarly, in the Akuressa area, around 200 metres of the Akuressa–Siyambalagoda road were underwater, with water levels reaching nearly three feet. A Unibuffel vehicle was deployed to facilitate the safe transport of students and civilians across the inundated stretch.

The Sri Lanka Army continues to extend essential support in disaster-affected areas, prioritising public safety and welfare amid the ongoing inclement weather.
