Security Force Headquarters - West marked its 13th anniversary with a series of commemorative events on 15 November 2025.
In line with the anniversary, an alms giving and a stationery items donation programme were conducted at the Sanhinda Children’s Home, while a cricket tournament among under-command establishments took place at the Kandalanda Playground. Simultaneously, a blood donation campaign was conducted with the coordination of the Cancer Hospital, Maharagama, at Bodhirajaramaya Temple. Afterwards, bodhi pooja was held to invoke blessings on fallen war heroes, all personnel of the Security Force Headquarters (West) and their families.
On the anniversary date, Major General U.K.D.D.P. Udugama RWP RSP USP ndc psc, the Commander of Security Forces – West, was accorded a guard turnout and a guard of honour, followed by a tree planting and a group photograph.
Afterwards, the Commander presented gift packs to all civilian staff of SFHQ (West). He later attended the all-ranks lunch and addressed the troops. Senior officers, officers and other ranks participated in the anniversary events.
