New Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture & Livestock Assumes Duties

Major General K.D.M.L Samaradiwakara RWP RSP ndc psc, Director General of the Financial Management Branch at Army Headquarters, assumed duties as the Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock (SLACAL) on 07 November 2025 during a dignified ceremony held at the Regimental Headquarters in Karandeniya.

He was accorded with a Guard Turnout on his arrival to the premises. Subsequently, Brigadier S.M.C.A.S Samarathunga RSP, the Centre Commandant, invited the incoming Colonel Commandant, SLACAL to inspect the Guard of Honour, followed by the traditional salute.

Afterwards, the Senior Officer entered his new office, where he signed the official document marking the formal assumption of duties amidst the religious observances. Addressing the gathering, he highlighted the importance of the Corps, its vital contributions to the Sri Lanka Army and its role in national development. He further emphasised the importance of maintaining discipline as a cornerstone of military excellence and a key factor in achieving regimental objectives.

Following the address, the newly appointed Colonel Commandant, SLACAL joined the customary All-Ranks tea, where he engaged in cordial and meaningful interaction with Officers and Other Ranks.

The ceremony was attended by members of the SLACAL Council, Senior Officers, Officers, and Other Ranks.
