SLNG Celebrates its 35th Anniversary

The Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) commemorated its 35th Anniversary on 01 November 2025 at the Regimental Centre in Kurunegala.

The celebrations commenced on 29 October 2025 with a commemoration ceremony at the regimental war heroes monument, paying tribute to 82 fallen heroes in the presence of their families. The following day featured religious observances, including an almsgiving for the Maha Sangha and a multi-religious flag blessing ceremony at the Kurunegala Hindu Kovil, Malay Jumma Mosque and Our Lady of Fatima Church.

On the anniversary day, Major General J.S.B.W Pallekumbura RWP RSP ndu psc, Colonel of the Regiment SLNG, was accorded a guard turnout and a ceremonial parade. He later joined a group photograph, attended the all ranks lunch and participated in a musical show.

Chairperson and members of the SLNG Seva Vanitha Branch, senior officers, officers and other ranks took part in the celebrations.
