Troops of the 9th Regiment of the Sri Lanka Artillery (SLA) and the 3rd Regiment of the Engineer Services Regiment (ESR) successfully completed the construction of a new Dhamma School building at Sevanapitiya Sama Viharaya and handed over on 26 October 2025.
The ceremony was graced by Major General K.V.N.P. Premaratne RSP USP nps psc, Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force and Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Artillery, as the Chief Guest, along with Mrs. Vindya Premaratne, Assistant Secretary of the Army Seva Vanitha Unit and Chairperson of the SLA Seva Vanitha Branch.
The construction project was made possible through the generous financial contribution of Mrs. Sureka Gardner, Vice President of Tharana Foundation.
The event was attended by members of the clergy, Major General J.S.B.W. Pallekumbura RWP RSP ndu psc, Commander, Security Forces (East), Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks, teachers, students, and residents of the area.
