An essential school supplies distribution programme, organised by the 242 Infantry Brigade of the 24 Infantry Division under the Security Forces (East), was successfully conducted on 24 October 2025 at Am/Panama Maha Vidyalaya.
The event was financially sponsored by Mr. Gamini Kirthichandra, President of the Sinhala Balamandala in the United Kingdom and a resident of Moratuwa. During the programme, 100 students representing eight selected schools received essential school supplies.
Major General J.S.B.W. Pallekumbura RWP RSP ndu psc, Commander, Security Forces (East), attended the event as the Chief Guest. Senior officers, officers, other ranks, government officials, teachers, parents and students were also present on the occasion.
