Based on information received by the Military Intelligence Corps, a joint operation was conducted on 19 October 2025 in Munnimurippu, Vavuniya, together with the Vavuniya Divisional Crime Investigation Unit.
During the operation, a suspect was arrested while transporting a stock of pregabalin pills, carefully concealed inside a cab, valued at approximately Rs. 53,850,000.00.
A total of 359,000 pills were seized. The suspect, a 23 years old male resident of Mandalakuda, Kalpitiya, was taken into custody.
Further investigations are being carried out by the Vavuniya Police Station.
