Based on information received by the Sri Lanka Army Intelligence Unit, on 11 October 2025, a joint raid was conducted in collaboration with Officers from the Jayawardhanapura Police Special Task Force in the Kelaniya area.
During the operation, an individual residing in the Kelaniya area was arrested along with 87 bundles of illegal cigarettes (totaling 17,400 cigarettes) valued at approximately Rs. 1,560,000.00. The individual was also in possession of a motor vehicle.
Further investigations are being carried out by the Kelaniya Police regarding this incident.
