The 59 Infantry Division organised a Football Tournament at the Iranapalai Ground, Puthukuduiruppu in the Mullaitivu District on 10 September 2025.
Major General K.M.P.S.B. Kulatunga RSP ndc psc, Commander, Security Forces (Wanni), graced the event as the Chief Guest, together with Mr. A. Umamaheshwaran, District Secretary of Mullaitivu.
A total of 22 football teams took part in the competition, with Mullaittivu Alaiosai Sports Club and Uduppukulam Uthayam Sports Club advancing to the grand finale.
Alaiosai Sports Club emerged champions, while Uthayam Sports Club secured the runners-up position. The top three teams were awarded trophies, certificates, gift packs and cash prizes. Special individual awards were also presented in recognition of outstanding performances throughout the tournament.
Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks and civilians in the area attended the event.
