Commandant of the Volunteer Force Visits 2 SLAPC and 10 SLNG

Major General K.V.N.P Premaratne RSP USP nps psc, Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF), visited 2 Sri Lanka Army Pioneer Corps (2 SLAPC) and 10 Sri Lanka National Guard (10 SLNG) on 4 September 2025.

The visit focused on strengthening administrative and operational functions of the battalions. At 2 SLAPC, he was welcomed by Lieutenant Colonel R.W.L.D.L.A Perera psc CR, who conducted a briefing on current undertakings. Addressing the troops, the Commandant highlighted the importance of combat discipline, prevention of unethical practices, and upholding Army traditions with loyalty and professionalism. The visit concluded with a group photograph and an entry in the visitors’ book.

In the evening, the Commandant visited 10 SLNG, where he was received by Major S.E.J.C Hemasingha, Commanding Officer. After a briefing, he addressed the troops, stressing effective integration of functions and alignment with the “Clean Sri Lanka” initiative. He also inspected facilities, posed for a group photograph, and joined an all-rank tea to conclude the visit.
