Major General K.W. Jayaweera USP psc of the Mechanized Infantry Regiment, who was recently promoted to the rank of Major General, received the symbol of authority and greetings from Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, the Commander of the Army, during a formal courtesy call held on 04 August 2025 at the Army Headquarters.
The Commander of the Army extended his heartiest congratulations and best wishes to the newly-promoted Senior Officer, who has rendered over three decades of dedicated service to the nation.
Following the cordial interaction, the Commander of the Army presented the symbolic General’s sword to the Senior Officer, signifying his new authority as a Major General.
