The troops of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) bade farewell to Major General B.M.R.J Bandara, the retiring Deputy Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF), on 28 July 2025 at the VIR Regimental Centre, Boyagane.
Upon his arrival, he was accorded a Guard Turnout and thereafter paid floral tributes to the Fallen War Heroes Monument and the PWV Monument, followed by a Guard of Honour accorded at the Regimental Parade Ground.
Adding memories to the day, the outgoing Senior Officer was invited to pose for a group photograph. He then joined the All Ranks tea and addressed the troops, expressing appreciation for their commitment and dedication.
The day’s proceedings concluded with a farewell dinner held at the Officers’ Mess. Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks participated in the event.
