The Directorate of Veterans Affairs & Rehabilitation in collaboration with Ranaviru Seva Authority organised a medical camp for differently-abled retired personnel on 30 July 2025 at Volunteer Force Training School, Diyathalawa. The initiative aimed to address the healthcare needs of Army veterans residing in the Uva Province.
Major General K.A.W.N.H Bandaranayake USP Commander Security Force (Central) graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Upon arrival, he was warmly welcomed by Brigadier W.A.S.R Wijedasa WWV RSP USP ndc psc, the Director Veterans Affairs together with Brigadier S.B Kohona (Retd) the Chairman of the Ranaviru Seva Authority and Other Senior Officers.
During the event Medical Equipment’s were symbolically distributed for differently-abled personnel by the Army Seva Vanitha Unit.
The event catered to over 2,000 beneficiaries including differently -abled retired/medical board out personnel and family members of War Heroes currently facing medical challenges. The medical camp included medical consultations, prosthetic maintenance, dermatology and dental clinics, mental health counseling and nutritional guidance.
