Commandant SLAVF Visits Volunteer Battalions Under 24 Infantry Division

Major General K.V.N.P Premaratne RSP USP nps psc, Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF), conducted an official visit to Volunteer Battalions under the 24 Infantry Division on 24 and 25 July 2025.

His itinerary included visits to 16 SLNG, 11 (V) SLSR, 8 SLNG, and 11 SLNG. Upon arrival, the Commandant was accorded military honours, including Guard Turnouts and Drive Pass salutes, followed by operational briefings from respective Commanding Officers.

During his address, the Commandant highlighted the Army's role in the Government led “Clean Sri Lanka” initiative and emphasised discipline, accountability, and dedication in military service. He planted saplings at each location.

He concluded the visit by leaving complimentary remarks in the visitors’ books and commended the battalions’ contributions. Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks were present during the visit.
