‘Finger Swift 2025’, organised by the Directorate of Information Technology, got underway on 16 July 2025 at the Army Headquarters. Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, Commander of the Army, graced the event as the Chief Guest.
This platform was designed to showcase the breadth and depth of innovative IT software development solutions and diverse IT applications, conceived and meticulously developed by the dedicated Officers of the Directorate of Information Technology of the Sri Lanka Army.
Three newly-designed IT applications, namely the Ration Demand Management System, the Annual Confidential Report Management System and the Medal Grant Information Management System, were unveiled by the Army Chief through a series of informative video clips.
Afterwards, a cyber-security demonstration was conducted by the 12th Regiment of Sri Lanka Signal Corps, highlighting potential threats in the cyber domain.
Subsequently, the Army Chief handed over project completion certificates completed by the Directorate of Information Technology to the Military Secretary of the Military Secretary’s Branch, and Directors of the Directorate of Personnel Administration and Recruiting, and Directorate of Supply and Transport to facilitate the operational use of the newly developed software systems. This was followed by the awarding of certificates to the IT professionals who contributed to the development of the systems.
Major General D.K.S.K Dolage USP nps psc, Chief of Staff of the Army, Major General G.L.S.W Liyanage USP nps psc, Chief Signal Officer and Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Signal Corps, Brigadier S.J.K.D Jayawardena USP psc, Director of the Directorate of IT, along with Senior Officers and Officers also attended the programme.
