The Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers bade farewell to its outgoing Colonel Commandant, Major General A.H.L.G Amarapala RWP RSP ndc psc, on 22 June 2025 at the Regimental Centre in Panagoda, marking the conclusion of a distinguished chapter of leadership and service.
Upon his arrival, the Senior Officer was warmly welcomed by the Centre Commandant and was honoured in a Guard Turnout at the main entrance. He then laid a floral wreath at the Regimental Monument. Following this, a Ceremonial Parade was presented at the parade square. The retiring Senior Officer was later invited to pose for official group photographs with Sapper officers to commemorate the occasion. During the All-Ranks tea, troops of the Corps extended their well wishes and gratitude to the retiring Senior Officer.
The day’s proceedings concluded with a farewell dinner, attended by Sapper officers and their spouses. During the event, Major General D.K.S.K Dolage USP nps psc, Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force, delivered a farewell address. In his response, the retiring Senior Officer conveyed his sincere appreciation to all Officers and Other Ranks for their steadfast support, loyalty, and camaraderie throughout his military career. He expressed deep gratitude for the guidance and encouragement received from his seniors, peers, and subordinates.
