Major General A.H.L.G Amarapala RWP RSP ndc psc, the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army, paid an official visit to the 9 Field Engineer Regiment on 12 March 2025 as part of an initiative to ensure the Army's administrative readiness at the ground operational level.
Upon arrival, he was warmly received by the Commanding Officer and was accorded a Guard Turnout. Addressing the troops, he emphasized discipline, resilience, and ethical conduct as essential values for both personal and national progress. He highlighted the importance of physical readiness through a balanced diet and urged soldiers to support the ‘Clean Sri Lanka’ initiative, setting an example for environmental sustainability.
The visit concluded with a briefing on the unit’s operational status and then he penned down his remarks in the visitors’ book at the Officers’ Mess.
